The Mind Travelers
by Richard R. Gayton
The Mind Travelers is Richard Gayton, Ph.D.'s second effort after the non fiction book The Forgiving Place—seen on Oprah. Its a psychological new age thriller that features Ian, a bisexual psychologist, Vietnam vet main character who learns from his eccentric uneducated  father Obadiah to "mind travel"—that is go deeply inside himself and heal.  Ian is ashamed of his love of both a man and woman and guilt ridden over the violence he was involved in during Vietnam combat. Very vivid battle scenes (not for the sensitive), intense sexuality and gripping story propel us forward in the fast paced narrative as Ian desperately seeks to save his teenage son who is a current victim of violence. The bisexual theme serves up issues of self hatred and loyalty for healing. The ending is a heart pounder. I just kept getting pulled in further and further until I couldn't put it down. Oprah would like this one, too!

ForgiveThis account of finding peace after violence from a psychologist with twenty years experience in the profession and seven years in his own recovery combines a dramatic story with surprising and usable assistance to the survivor and those who want to support them.
