From the Editor...
Okay, I readily admit it, Spring is Here, and with it comes the fever to be outdoors, to work in the yard, to do anything but sit in front of a computer at work and then come home and sit in front of a computer. And I highly suspect that the same fever has struck many of my regular contributors. Here it is already May 1 and, well, I'm just now putting together this online magazine.

I also have a feeling that I will be sending the announcement of this issue to vacant computers around the country. Still, we've got some interesting books for your perusal and a thought provoking editorial from Kye Faithfield, tackling at least two  current issues: transgender issues and bullying. Of course the piece goes further with other issues. When you turn sixty, one does have a great vantage point from which to view the world and to comment upon it.

Cheri  Rosenberg and Lori L. Lake are preparing for a writer's conference in New Orleans in June—none of which is covered in this  issue, but I have a feeling when they return to their own computers after the conference, they'll have plenty to say. Jay Mandal has contributed an excerpt from his new novel, Precipice.

Absolutely no issue would be complete without reviews from Jerry Flack, John Charles, and Tony Heyes—and oddly enough, winter seems to still be hanging on in the areas where they reside, so what else could they do but be present and accounted for at their computers?

Arlene Germain, however, is an entirely different story when it comes to reviews. She is such a voracious reader, I'm set for this issue as well as the next. She used the "excuse" that she was clearing her desk. Uh huh, I see...well, maybe she will submit the secret of time management so the rest of us will see how she does it—winter or spring.
