From the Editor...
Okay, taking a month
off from publishing this magazine wasn't nearly enough time! I don't
know why. Maybe the bulk of August was spent worrying about my upcoming
medical procedure. Here's the context. My regular doctor wanted me to
have two invasive procedures—North and South. He referred me to another
doctor, saying that he would probably perform the two procedures during
the same
hospital stay. But when I brought this up with the new doctor, he
said, "Oh! No no no. We don't do 'shish kabob'!" You get my drift. I
had
the "northern" end done first, was completely knocked out for it, and
got
that out of the way in July. Now I'm up for the "southern" invasion.
I'll let you know how it goes, but I do know that the little scope
comes with teeth!
During
the remainder of July and most of August, I collected reviews,
articles, and opinions from many contributors. Kathi Isserman is a
first time contributor, so be sure to check out her reviews. Tom
Chambers is a first time contributor, as well, and he shares his own story. Matt Rauscher perhaps
needs no introduction to many of you. He
has contributed a couple of editorials, but watch for a review of his
book in the next issue of IGW: The
Unborn Spouse Situation. See the press release for this novel, here, and an excerpt here. Ruth Mountaingrove is
another first time contributor, and she
reviews a journal, Sinister Wisdom.
We've got
a new publisher whose works we will be reviewing in the coming months,
but I'd like to draw your attention to one of this publisher's authors,
Sara Bell, and her new book, The
Magic in Your Touch. We are currently lining up a reviewer for
the upcoming edition, but you can get the particulars about the new
publisher and this new book, here.
And
then, of course, regular contributors Jay Mandal, Tony Heyes,
Arlene Germain, Jerry Flack, and Cheri Rosenberg complete this issue. I
know that Cheri who is a budding writer has been a lot busier than
writing reviews. We'll keep you apprised of just how busy in the coming
issues. Jerry Flack has been busy with his
extraordinary reviews, and this issue is no different. I would just love to be left alone with his
coffee table for a few hours...you'll see why in this issue. Jay Mandal
has sent us an excerpt from his latest book, and Tony Heyes has yet
again added an international flair to the magazine with his inimitable
reviews.
